Founded in 1984 in the UK, The Trident Fish Bar started modestly, but quickly became a beloved staple, celebrated for its freshly cooked seafood, quality and flavour.
After successfully conquering the UK market, the family ventured into Australia. They opened their doors in the charming tourist town of Queenscliff, Victoria. Over the years, this location earned multiple Fish & Chip Awards as well as People’s Choice Awards, establishing itself as a beloved local favourite. This was just the beginning of their incredible journey
The family ventured into New South Wales, opening their doors at the iconic Big Prawn in Ballina. This site quickly became a tourist destination where locals and travelers alike came to experience the unique flavors of what The Trident had to offer. With trawlers unloading the freshest seafood straight from Ballina’s waters, the restaurant became a popular destination.
In 2019, they opened in Alstonville, continuing their mission to deliver not only meals, but an experience – creating a hub where locals gather to enjoy freshly cooked seafood and the unmistakeable flavour of what The Trident has to offer. The Alstonville location also won the Fish & Chip Awards and People’s Choice Awards, 3 years in a row.
In 2024, they opened their newest store in Lismore. The town faced the biggest flood in Australian history in 2022, with two floods in a matter of weeks that completely devastated the entire area. The family took over a 270m² site, an old Red Rooster location, and invested in the town’s growth. They transformed it into a vibrant new hub for the community, bringing the flavours of The Trident to the town.
